Xiaomi Mi Mix Ultimate with World class design

The Xiaomi Mi Mix is designed by French designer Phillipe Starck. Mr Starck is known for his industrial and architectural designs, which generally carry simple, yet inventive structures.

The Mix is all ceramic, including the rear, front, and buttons.

Stylewise, Xiaomi’s Mix puts manufacturers such as iPhone and Samsung to shame with its edgeless display. Not only are the sides nearly non-existent, there’s no top bezel, and the bottom portion of the front is much shorter than we typically see.

For a bit of icing and to ram things home, Xiaomi Mi Mix Ultimate includes an 18K gold rimmed camera.

Europeans and Asians have long enjoyed Xiaomi LTE, now Americans are also getting a piece of the Xiaomi pie. The Xiaomi Mix is Xiaomi’s first phone to support LTE 4G worldwide, including American LTE.

  • 4G TD-LTE: B38 / B39 / B40 / B41

91.3% screen-to-body

This phone isn’t for those who prefer small. The IPS display is a big 6.4″@2K (2040*1080). The display will carry a 17:9 ratio when in full mode, and 16:9 when soft keys are onscreen.

The screen-to-body ratio is 91.3%, which puts the iPhone 7 [email protected]% in a fairly embarrassing position.

Xiaomi partially achieves this by getting rid of physical keys and moving the front camera down to the bottom-right corner.

Wait, the top is gone? Where did the earpiece speaker go?

There is none. That’s right, there’s no earpiece speaker in the Xiaomi Mix. Instead, the sound is vibrated to your ear via piezoelectric ceramic which converts electrical signals (voice data) into mechanical energy (vibrations).

You put your ear anywhere up towards the top of the phone, and microvibrations allow you to easily hear the person on the other end.

Some may be skeptical, but the Mi Max has been 3rd party tested and this technology is working great and as advertised.
