Summary

  • User furmanoff has done a teardown of Doogee Mix and found “MT6757V” imprinted on the SoC
  • SoC makers often use the same SoC, but with higher GPU and CPU clocks and resell them as a new SoC
  • “CH” is clearly printed on the chip
  • It’s up to MediaTek to clarify what “P25” is
  • The full discussion thread is here (opens in new tab)

UPDATE: There is no conspiracy here. MTK has simply clocked MT6757V higher and sold as MT6757CH. This is normal practice for CPU makers. The “CH” is clearly visible at the end of the printing on the chip. Thanks to Chris for pointing this out (see comments).

According to the the picture taken by Mr furmanoff, the information printed on the SoC is “MT6757V”, which is Helio P20.

However, let’s take a closer look and reserve judgement until further information can be obtained.

According to the printing on the chip and CPU identifying apps, the CPU is “MT6757CH”.

CPU test apps are showing the clusters running at max clocks of [email protected] and [email protected]. According to MTK, Helio P25 is “UP TO” 2.6GHz. So, with this wording, it’s POSSIBLE that some Helio P25 SoC actually are clocked at 2.4GHz max.

Also note that Helio P20 is UP TO 2.3GHz, which disqualifies MT6757CH as Helio P20.

At the moment, the clue missing is whether or not MT6797CH is denoted Helio P25 by MediaTek. And, it’s the only thing that matters in determining whether or not Doogee and Vernee are falsely representing MT6757CH.
