Oukitel just keeps pumping them out. This time with great looking, very well priced 5.5″ mobile that sports a touch ID scanner. Just several months back, this was the stuff of $180 ballpark mobiles, but now are being made available in the budget devices as well.

The SoC is the budget MT6735 with the [email protected]. I can tell you from experience that this little guy can push Android without issue. I wouldn’t want to see it in a 1080P phone, but it should hanidle 720P no problem.

The RAM is a big 2GB, which was unheard of for this price even just a few months back. Now that 2GB RAM is coming in these very affordable devices, I tend to recommend it if it’s in the budget. While it doesn’t necessarily make Android OS run quicker, it does have the advantage of keeping more apps in memory for you so they’re bam right where you left them.

Also included is 16GB storage which is nice to see in a budget device. The OS is Android 5.1, so you know you’re getting the latest OS, which is a plus for many who are clamoring for Lollipop.

The style of the phone is quite slick, with CNC-machined aluminum sides and 2.5D front glass. If you happen to be in UK/Europe or Asia and are looking for a budget phone, consider the Oukitel U8.
