How To Flash ROM / Firmware with SP Flash Tool On MTK6595, MTK6592, MTK6589, MTK6572, MTK6582, MTK6577
If you’d like to know how to flash a ROM on MTK6752, MT6732, MT6753, MT6735, MT6595, MT6592, MT6589, MT6572, MT6582, MT6577, you’re on the write post. Normally we refer people to this post, as the procedure is mostly the same. But for the sake of simplicity, we’ll write a stand-alone tutorial.
This will just be the bare bones tutorial. The full tutorial with required file links and images is posted at the forum here.
Note, if you don’t have access to a backup, create one first. Remember, we ARE NOT responsible for any hell that happens to your phone. You take any and all responsibility for messing with your phone.
What you’ll need:
- MTK / MediaTek based smartphone
- USB Data Cable
- USB ADB VCOM drivers
- SP Flash Tool
- MTK Droid Tools (if scatter not included with ROM)
What to do:
- Step 1 – Install the PDANet USB ADB VCOM drivers
- Step 2 – If you don’t have a scatter file, you need to create one with MTK Droid Tools. (See how to create a scatter file)
- Step 3 – Download, extract, and run the latest version of SP Flash Tools
- Step 4 – Select load scatter file
- Step 5 – Deselect ‘preloader’
- Step 6 – Select ‘download’
- Step 7 – Connect USB cable to phone and watch the pretty colors fly

I would like to change the ROM. i’d like to install the real O.S. Androis with all the functions. Flashing with new ROM.
What do you advice me do? Is there any problem to change the ROM?

I bought the DG550. After updating to kit kat using the official rom, my sim card is not recognized anymore. Some apps are forced closed and i cant use the phone. Had to revert to the original stock rom.
Do you know of some similar problems? Is there a workaround?

Also, did you try to restore your apps after installing KitKat?
If you did OTA and/or restored apps with data after the flash, then please try a clean install of the ROM with flash tool and don’t restore your apps with data.

I e-mailed the problem to doogee and they told me to restore to factory settings.
I’m new to mtk devices so i’m kind of lost…
The upgrade was made using flash tools and with the official kit kat rom from doogee, wich was posted in needrom.com website.
After the initial problem of installing the usb driver, i managed to install the rom using the option “download only” in flash tools. I wasn’t sure if that was the correct option but it worked.
After the 1st boot i then powered off the device, inserted the sim card and started getting forced closed apps. The sim never connected.
I then flashed the stock rom 4.2.9 using the same method and had no problems.
So, your suggesting to do the update using flash tools and then cleaning the data from all apps? How is it done if the window of the closed app keeps poping up?
In my previous devices, whenever i installed a new rom, all the data was erased previously using CWM, hence my question.

What apps were closing?
There’s a possibility that the cache wasn’t wiped / written over. Were your old apps still on the phone after the upgrade was done?
Have you tried booting into recovery and doing a factory reset?
If that doesn’t fix it for you, download this ROM and do “Firmware update” instead of “Download”.

I didn't root the phone yet so i used the option to reset to factory settings from inside the android. Then installed the official 4.4.2 rom using flashtools and the option to upgrade firmware. Inserted the sim card and same problem. The apps that are closing are: com.android.phone and power saving management. Then removed the sim card, did another factory restore from the KK, and tried the sim card and again same problem. Also, installed some apps in the 4.2.9, and after the upgrade the apps were no longer there. I supposed it's being properly formatted. Then i did the same steps with the rom you provided (much thanks, by the way) and same problem. I guess i'm reverting again to jellybean... Am i missing a step? I don't know if a can root the phone and not losing the warranty. I would prefer if i could solve this without routing the phone... So if you have any other suggestions i'm opened to try. I will continue to send mails to doogee anyways, to see if they can be more helpful but until now, not so lucky.
