Seems only last year that 4″ was considered too big by some.  The king of the pack, the iPhone was at 3.5″.  Fast-forward a short time, and 4″ is considered SMALL by many (okay, let’s keep our minds on mobile phones)… Now it seems difficult to find any new releases with anything smaller than 4″, with most Android phones coming out even bigger.

This comes as no surprise.  People are increasingly using their phones for a multitude of things besides texting and calling.  From watching 720p movies, to connecting them to bluetooth with a mouse and keyboard and being used more or less as a full fledged PC, to playing 3d FPS games.

So how big is too big for you?  For me, a 5.0″ mobile phone is too big, and perhaps bordering on silly when actually using it as a phone held to your ear.   Though, I suppose a case could be made for Bluetooth or a wired headset/mic.  Then there’s still the issue of carrying the monster around with you to do your daily tasks.  Maybe for a female this isn’t such an issue as the phone can kept in a purse, but for us guys it could be a bit cumbersome.

Opinions welcomed on this.  How big is your current phone?  What’s the maximum you’d go with now if purchasing a new one?
