I’ve reviewed several Doogee phones and found all of them quite good, and without any major issues. Doogee fell out of the limelight recently due to heavy marketing from Elephone and Oukitel, but they are far from out of the race, releasing several high-spec budget phones this month.

Up for preview today is the Doogee F5

  • SoC: MTK6753
  • CPU: 64-bit [email protected]
  • GPU: Mali-T720
  • Display: IPS OGS 5.5″@1080P
  • OS: Android 5.1
  • RAM: 3GB
  • ROM: 16GB
  • Camera rear: Samsung-3M2@13MP
  • Camera front: OmniVision 5.0MP
  • SIM / TF: TF SD-expandable *or* dual-SIM
  • 2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz
  • 3G: WCDMA 850/1900/2100MHz
  • 4G: FDD-LTE 800/900/1800/2100/2600MHz
  • Other: OTG, HotKnot, finger scanner

Stylewise I’m loving this phone. Extremely square at the corners with a rounded rear shell. This phone is reminiscent of Asus Zenfone 2, but with some interesting style thrown into the mix on the sides and a metal frame.

The fingerprint scanner is on the rear of the phone, which is where I prefer it to be as opposed to the front; much easier to scan in single-handedly.

Pricewise, Doogee does it again. MT6753, finger scanner, 1080P, 3GB RAM? Doogee is really sticking it to their competitors with these amazing price points. While I haven’t had a chance to review Doogee’s latest offerings, if they’re up to usual Doogee quality standards, they will come highly recommended given their amazing price scheme.

Also notable is the inclusion of 850/1900 WCDMA, which makes it a solid choice worldwide except for a few 900-only areas in Europe. As always, check your carrier’s frequency support before purchasing a mobile.
