On a rampage with high-specced phones at great prices, Doogee just keeps churning them out this month. Up for preview today is the Doogee Y100 Pro. Another sub-$100 mobile from Doogee.
Taking a look at the style of the phone, we see it looks very much like Umi’s recently released Umi eMAX, however here the battery is removed instead of enclosed; a fact I very much approve of.
This little video of the Y100 gave me a bit of a chuckle.
The display size is also something I like. It seems several China brands have recently noticed a gap to be filled in terms of display sizes. It’s also got the 2.5D Arc protective glass which adds an additional element of class to the phone.
The SoC is the MT6735@1.0GHz. Some may be tempted to think this isn’t enough to handle Lollipop smoothly, but having recently tested several MT6735 mobiles, I can tell you that it’s more than up to the task of pushing Android 5.
One thing to consider is frequency support. We see it’s missing 850 WCDMA, however those with T-Mobile in 1900 areas can still use 3G without issue. The inclusion of 900 here makes the Doogee Y100 Pro compatible with all Europe/UK 3G. As always, check your local carrier’s frequency support.
Included in the mix is 2GB of RAM. For the price, it’s difficult to go wrong here. Doogee is really sticking it to the competition and bringing solid specs at fantastic prices.
